What are the raw materials of degradable plant fiber tableware?

Biodegradable plant fiber tableware mainly uses plant fibers such as wheat straw and sugarcane bagasse as raw materials. Longteng's biodegradable bagasse tableware is formed through the hot pressing process of bagasse pulp molding. Food-grade additives such as water-proof and oil-proof are added to the pulp to meet food contact requirements, and the finished product is finally prepared.

Why do these types of tableware look a bit "dirty"?

Are they not as clean as other disposable tableware?

Looking at the surface is just one way to judge whether the tableware is clean or not. You cannot judge the cleanliness of the tableware based on this.

This type of tableware uses natural plant fibers as raw materials, such as straw, bamboo, bagasse, etc., but the color of these materials themselves is not all white, and these plant fibers themselves are relatively tough and cannot be completely broken.

Therefore, the color of the lunch box is slightly darker, not pure white, and it is impossible to be transparent like disposable plastic.

However, in order to meet market demand, we often use some food-grade high-quality white pulp and natural color pulp to make products for customers to choose from to meet everyone's needs for cleanliness and environmental protection.

Why do sugarcane bagasse lunch boxes still dominate the domestic market?

How much?

First, let’s take a look at the main raw material, sugarcane.

In terms of planting, sugarcane is mainly distributed between 33° north latitude and 30° south latitude, with the area between 25° north and south latitude being relatively concentrated. Sugarcane is native to India and is now widely grown in tropical and subtropical regions. The country with the largest sugarcane planting area is Brazil, followed by India, and China ranks third.

In terms of technology, about 50% of the fiber left in the bagasse after sugar extraction can be used to make paper. However, there are still some cane pith (marrow cells) that have no interweaving force and should be removed before the pulping process. The length of sugarcane bagasse fiber is about 0.65-2.17mm, and the width is 21-28μm. Although its fiber shape is not as good as wood and bamboo, it is slightly better than rice and wheat straw fibers.

So how to recycle the used plant fiber tableware?

How about sorting garbage?

As an environmentally friendly product, we mainly classify waste according to its raw materials. For example, the main raw material of Longteng's production of plant fiber tableware is sugarcane bagasse, so according to the classification principle, simple bagasse should be classified as recyclable garbage. If the lunch box used contains other ingredients, such as corn starch, it should be classified as dry waste.
